These Strawberry Shortcake Martinis are refreshing and sweet just like the dessert! Fresh strawberry puree, Whipped Cream Vodka, and a dollop of whipped cream create this beautiful cocktail that is perfect for summer entertainment. This is how you do a dessert martini in the summer! Just beware…
of the sneaky effects of a dessert martini! It does have a habit of sneaking up on you at a moment’s notice. In my case, most of the “sneaking up” involved my 2 year old daughter knocking over my drink background and breaking my cute little cocktail glass (composure not maintained). Never a dull moment around here! Well, at least I got some decent pictures taken of all 3 glasses before the massacre ensued. Goodbye beautiful little glass.
Let the next 3-10 nights of endless explosions begin (continue)! Am I the only person annoyed with the constant fireworks? I mean, can’t we just wait until it is actually 4th of July before we attempt to burn down the neighborhood? That just brought me to a fond memory of this nearly happening to me some years ago. PSA…if you don’t want the fire department knocking on your door at 4am, be sure to wet the used fireworks before putting them in a plastic trashcan! Yes, this did happen to me (totally not the one to blame though)! Luckily, the trashcan was the only true victim. However, the embarrassment of standing in your front yard in pajamas with several neighbors watching never quite goes away…LOL!
So, be safe out there! Sometimes, it is just easier to sit at home with a great cocktail such as this Strawberry Shortcake Martini. No need to limit your options…check out my Saturated Saturday Page for more great cocktail ideas to get you through the hot summer.

This looks amazing delicious! Perfect for sipping while listening to neighbors set off fireworks (which we don’t mind too much, especially if we get a free show out of the deal!).
Holly says
They sure are…I love a free fireworks show (as long as it doesn’t wake up my kids). 🙂

I love a good fireworks show as much as the next person, but would be very happy if it only lasted for one night. However, I’d happily drink these pretty cocktails for many nights in a row.

Me too…thanks!!!
