This Crockpot Peach Crisp Oatmeal with steel-cut oats is heart-healthy and EASY to prepare! The flavors are so tantalizingly delicious with peaches, buttermilk, brown sugar, cinnamon and topped with graham cracker crumbs (YUM). This recipe is also great for busy mothers who don’t have time to cook a warm breakfast in the morning (crockpots are such a lifesaver)! You can throw this in the crockpot before going to bed and sleep soundly knowing that steel-cut oats are one of the healthiest ways to start your family’s day off right.
You probably already know that oatmeal helps lower cholesterol and steel-cut oats are whole grain with antioxidants. If you have never prepared them before, you should really try these if you are a peach fan! You can also substitute the peaches for apples…equally delicious! Making them in the crockpot overnight is a must…they take longer to cook than the processed varieties. I am a bit of an oatmeal expert…I seriously eat it like 5 days a week and never get tired of it. I love the flexibility of being able to throw in so many different kinds of fruits, nuts and spices to have a completely different tasting meal every time. Another great thing about oatmeal…it is super filling! You don’t spend half your morning hungry with the temptation to munch on junk food at work.
You can probably tell that I LOVE breakfast by now. I could probably eat breakfast food for every meal! It saddens me that I just really don’t have the time in the mornings during the week to make more elaborate breakfasts. However, this recipe allows my family to have a nice warm breakfast in the morning with no fuss (well…there is probably fussing, but it isn’t because of this easy recipe). If you like peaches, you should also try out my Peach Harvest Apple Smoothie recipe. It is equally delicious and healthy!

Instructions as listed do not say anything about adding the steel cut oats??? After saying spray crock pot sides and bottom with non stick it says add all other ingredients but nothing about oats, thought you should know.
